Today spent some time on the range with TOZ 17-01 to see what it capable. It can show better result than I am - that is for sure. Each target has a 5 rounds in it.

After correction to the right:

It is not the best groups and better eyes might do better. Old stock Federal 711b (1080 fps) ammo used for this exercise and found best in comparison to other Federal HV (1200 fps). Weather was very nice and quiet with beautiful sunset after busy day. Time was spent with joy!

To warm up a topic

To warm up a topic will post a picture of a Hero

Scope is a clone of a Chinese Red Star. The first scope was a better one, but rear sight was a problem and I did not like how she looked.
Scope on the picture below is meant to be for such rifle, but priced way too much to pay for it:

Picture taken from here: http://depotmilitary.com/index.php?id=273

And rings for PU scope are hard to find, so this setup is a acceptable compromise considering range report above.

Nice shooting. Mine hasn't shown the same accuracy but I do like it.

A little incident has happen that day on the range: leather parts of a sling dried out so much and been ripped apart. Now I have to learn to become a leather craftsman to repair that piece.
What is good about our hobby is there are lot of knowledge and skills should be learned to keep things rolling and that is a beauty of it!

Last time I tried that leather path is cost A$30.00 in leather alone. To get one in from Russia, landed, all good to go, fits, sewn, brass, splendidly made, etc for A$17.00 each.
Not hard to figure out which way to go is it?

No Sir, That is the beauty. I bought two. One for my TOZ 16-1 and the other for the 78. Contrary to popular belief, I am not entirely stupid. Keep in mind, ex Russia.

Though to narrow for the 12-01 and/or the 8M. Otherwise, just what the Doctor ordered.

When I saw a tag, I thought you do not have any needs for it and I might offer you a deal. Will you sell it to me?

Can only help now with an Oz retailer ( not me!).
If they will not assist, then I will buy it for you and send it to you.
At the moment US $0.76 = A$ 1.00. (approx) P.m me needs be.

P.s
You would not pay the g.s.t (goods and services tax @ 10%) if he does sell o.s. Freight to U.S. would be about two beers.

New life of an old thing

Unfortunately that site does not sell overseas, but I developed my skills and have all leather parts manufactured by myself. I like my old sling a lot because it can be used as a normal hunting rifle sling as well as real target rifle sling EASY. It is my first leather crafting project, so it is not perfect, but useful and leather is fresh.
