I use Burris 2x7 PA pistol scopes for hunting (.22 thru 7-30 Waters) as well as Standing silhouette competition. The earlier mentioned 2x6 Bushnell scopes with their long eye relief I use in creedmore position. You see people shooting higher magnification rifle scopes shooting the "flop" position around here.

I shoot IHMSA silhouette. For my Creedmoor position I use a 4X Leopold and 2X7 variable. The variable ends up set a 4X because that is the only way I can see the full field of view in that position. Standing I use a red dot sight. A lot of the guys I shoot with do use a rifle scope for standing with what is called the Taco hold.

For standing at 25 (chickens) i start at about 12* and up the power to 18 or 20 at the rams for field and small bore.

I must be getting old,,,
I have EER scopes (both Leupold) in 2X and 4X magnification,,,

I REALLY do not like shooting at 25 yards with the 4X unless the gun is on a rest.

The 2X is on a S&W 617,, the 4X is on a Contender,,,

Both scopes are the M8,,

I have the same M8 2X on a Ruger MKII,, maybe I am just addicted to 2X

I shoot 25 to 50 yards at 2 inch targets,, mostly steel, sometimes soda cans laying down,,,
