Log in to see fewer ads
have a B&C "plastic" stock in the black with the gray spider web design.
i really like it but it looks kinda drab, lol,

am wondering if anyone tried to spray theirs to make it glossy looking
and what type of o'coat spray-on was used. MAYbe a poly ??

just a project i was thinking of doing,

thanks,

Rico....

I haven't tried it, I just thought it would work, and you might be able to find it in Montanny....

The pebbling of the stock will repeat itself in the clear without sanding the layers down until the "voids" are filled.

Talk to Tuck. he paints a lot of these stocks.

thanks, Passin,

but am not trying to fill in the voids. i like the "ruff" feel, just want
the stock a bit glossiER, lol,

anyway, tried a small spot on the butt end, with some high gloss spray
on, and after two coats is looking pretty good. looks like two coats is
plenty nuff, a BIG diff, i like it,

now to do the whole stock, lol,

Rico....

okay, then

wiped the stock down with Mineral Spirits, hung it up and gave
it a good coat of some clear gloss. looking great.

just what i wanted, no more "blah grey", lol, now it's "cadillac black",

Rico....

thanks, Que,

will do.

right now it is hanging in the "paint booth". since the stock is
textured, no chance of runs, looking good so far, i like it,

Rico....
