Unhappy " Ammo shortage "....??

Log in to see fewer ads
am wondering if anyone here may have the same prob;

stopped at the gun shop earlier to √ on an order for ammo placed last week,
1,000 rnds each of CCI std vel and Rem subs. they could not get either one
from their main distributor.

yea, MOST of my ammo has to be ordered, but, i dont think a coupla thousand
rounds every month or so could be considered "hoarding", lol,

even IF there was a WW nearby, i dont shoot the bulk paks. tried them, and
wont buy anymore, picky,picky, lol,

most of you live in a lot larger town than i do, but how is the ammo supply
where you are at? aside from the "exotic" stuff, are the shelves well stocked
with the more common stuff?

thanks,

Rico....just curious

Rico,

I live in a mid/large sized town, and ammo is that stuff that is in the closet right now as "collectibles".

I haven't been able to get any ammo in almost two months, there just isn't any to be had.

In southern Ohio, Most the shops have the same as WW, because thats where they have been getting all their ammo...Fed 510's for 3.69 for 50 ha ha One shop has a pretty good selection still but he is running out also...He did break a case of Blazer's open for me , so I could get a brick.... Not trying to hoard , He knows I usually come in a couple times a month to get one..

ammo is super tight right now. I was glad I was able to get 500 rds of 40 S&W and 250 12 ga shells in about a week via mail order

Most of the shelves are bare of guns AND ammo, even here in PRNJ...

Down in Dallas, WalMart ammo shelves are bare, except for unpopular stuff like .22 shorts and .22 magnums.. lucky me, .22 magnums are one of mine! :-)

I can only get one brand of .38 sp at Bass Pro shops now.. and it's not any of the good ones.. :-)

and about half the time I reload on bulk Rem. Golden Bullet .22 LR, it's gone and I have to buy the 50 rounds per box expensive way.

In Dallas the .40 shooters and the .380 shooters are almost outta luck. Comes and goes in the stores. Even 9mm and .45 looks a little spare sometimes. Plenty of rifle rounds but pistol stuff is way hard to get.

ammo shortage

i live in minnesnowta hard to get 9mm 40sw 45acp
when you can find it you have to donate a kidney to get it
there is plenty of 22 though i can get as much as i can carry if needed
cci standard going for 7.00 per 100 rounds, mini mags 6.00 per 100,velocitors 6.00 per 50 & 17.00 per brick for blazers
i have a tec 22 that i hated shooting because it would only take cci whatevers
so tried the blazers and 100% reliability now i can shoot it as much as i want

wow, guys,

i thought it was just here in "two traffic light small town USA".

jeez, but, around here i think i'm the only "fool" that will spend
$4.00 + for a box of 50 rnds. other people here buy the cheapest
stuff for the kids to go plink at gophers.

so..........on-line "window shopping" is a fave past-time, lol,

am glad i started this thread. thought i was "only Da lonely" that
had to resolve to on-line, BUT, thats okay. helps to keep the UPS
people in work, and i know them all, lol,

Rico....

rico the only local stuff I get in the Fed 550pk, Win 333 and the Rem Subs. I haven't looked for any out that lately so I haven't a clue. all the other ammo I get on-line and attempt to catch it on sale or buy enough that the s&h doesn't sting too bad.

Ammo shortages

Ammo shortages are about the only thing that is consistently reliable around here in South Florida. There are few guns on the shelves and even fewer boxes of ammunition on the shelves. Even places like Outdoor World are pretty much out of any kind of ammunition that is 1) inexpensive and 2) used in any military or NATO caliber firearm and 3) expensive and #2 ....

Every place I order from online and purchase from locally is out.

Gun shops are even out of Glocks, which is like running out of milk at the grocery store.

Shotgun shells are plentiful, as long as you want something smaller than #4 shot.

Interesting times....

Things are not so bad here in NH. Ammo can still be found. CCI SV is plentiful. WW is bare naked but other shops have ammo by the case. I don't understand how we can be so well supplied while others starve. XM193 federal is plentiful also. We have large quantities avail at local gun shows.

ammo was very easy to find at all the online retailers just several months ago. kinda makes a person wish they'd bought when the buying was good doesn't it?
