but tell me does it have the same chamber as the rifle version ?
i imagine it would, but can you figure all the bbl makers are gearing up to
make after market bbls for this pistol ??

wouldnt be hard to shorten a GM and re-crown. just wonder if that would
be legal ?? cant see why not.

rico....

cant see why you couldn't cut and re-crown a rifle barrel for it ? if I was to buy one it would probably end up as rifle any ways ....do they offer it in a silver finish Que?

Would be perfectly legal. It would even be legal to turn it into a rifle as long as you put a 16" barrel on it before you put a rifle stock on it.

currently all Ruger is offering is what you see in the first pic of this thread. I figure there are several barrel makers and some stock makers getting ready to introduce new products for this pistol. You know Rick @ GM will do up some nice short barrels.
I have yet to pull the action apart but I'd figure this is the same chamber as the 10/22 chamber is. no need in them doing any differently on that. 10/22s sell like a son-of-a-gun as is. its the minority that look for better in the barrels.

not a problem. I've been accused by select pirates that I am a "tease". I'll be posting pics as this goes along but it'll be slow. have yet to get it all figured on what I want to do to it. I've only had this thing about 10hrs now.

hey rico, just had a thought. maybe I should try out the 77 barrel on it haha

well I have a couple more things to finish up around here and then I can really start in on this. asked why not shoot it as is first, well i really don't care for the looks of the factory pistola stock. its already put away along with the bipod that is sold with it. we all know how the action is on these things so I figure I'll smooth/lighten up the internals before shooting also.

Que,

looking good. how about an alum butt plate with a "hooked" end.

might help to "off-set" the heavy front end,

rico....

was gonna try that on one of the sporters, but the scraps of alum i have
are all too thin to make it worth while. but i was thinking of an oversized
piece, mark it and use a dremel sanding drum to shape the "hook".

rico....

If I was going to build one of these up, (and you are making it look like a lot of fun to do so), my first thought is aluminum. Can a person get a Whistle-Pig or a Tactical Soultions barrel cut back and re-crowned? And if they did go that route, couldn't it also be shouldered and rechambered with a bentz chamber? I would think that the balance would be too barrel heavy for me, and that an aluminum barrel would help out. Just a thought.

Que,

just curious, and you are the person to ask;

is the rcvr stamped with the word "charger" or "pistol" or anything
to identify it as for pistol use only ?

rico....

has the word charger on it. the word pistol is nowhere to be found on it.

well I started shaping the front part. still some work to finish that piece up.

thanks, Que,

if that is a piece of alum, i think it'll look great, like a mannlicher fore-end. heck,
if you can fab that part, a butt cap should be a "walk",

that stock looks like it will stain very nicely, has some nice grain to it, too bad
you cant find a really beat up walnut stock someplace, like e-bay, or create
a detachable rifle butt that is removable, just playing with ideas since you
posted pics of "stubby"

but that lami stock will take very well to a RIT dye job if you wanna play
with it.

just out of curiousity, will √ w/ the gun shop mgr here and see if he has a
supplier and what it would cost to bring one in, who knows, maybe in a
couple months, lol,

does anyone know the legal bbl length for a pistol? must be around 16"
or less ??

also read here somewhere that Tac Sol may be coming out with bbls in a
few months,

and you dont waste any time either, hahaha,

rico....
