Nope, it is a Tasco 4x metal tube. Very fine crosshairs, it is clear, but physically it looks kinda rough. Later.

Brno 468 (single shot garden rifle) pics

This particular rifle is I guess made in 1950 (according to date on chamber), with a serial # of 018XX. Production started approximately 1948, and have no idea when they were discontinued. 37 1/4" overall. 20 1/2" barrel. 14 1/4" pull. Single shot.

Oh Dude...that thing looks awesome!!! But then again knowing CWG's work, I'm not surprised. The anticipation must be unreal. When is the expected arrival date?

Well finally it's here... BRNO #5. I have mounted the versa pod backwards because the lip on the stock's forend gets in the way of the actual bipod. I tried putting some packer between the bipod mount and stock but as I began tightening it I was putting massive pressure on the stock. I loosened it to relieve that pressure but then it wobbled a bit so I just mounted it backwards. It doesn't look the best backwards but what can ya do? I was disappointed at first but then I started fiddling with the bipod's tension screws and backward make total sense. If you noticed.... when on backwards.... the tension knobs are on the right which is far more practical to adjust than if they were on the right(which is how they are if you mount the bipod the correct way). There was also another problem with the %%%% bipod.... it needed the QD stud. I was told by three people that the BRNO sling screw didn't match a QD stud thread so the bloke at the gun store had to do a bit of playing around. But that worked out ok I guess.

Anyway, enough rambling. On with the pics....

Larger picture here

The barrel says it's a #5.

Agreed, that thing looks great!!! I have couple of #1's with nice Turkish Walnut and grain but none with factory checkering. Very cool! You should be very proud as that looks to be one of the nicest #5's or #1's that I have seen on RFC. I seem to remember you were thinking about refinishing it...why? Looks good from here.

Congrats...I'm glad it worked out so well.

What's kind of fascinating to me is why did Brno switch from oval / squared ejection ports between models so much. #1, 3 and 5s have the oval, while #2 and 4 have squared, yes? Weird.

Thanks guys.

My dad who is a cabinet maker wanted to refinish the stock the second I showed him, it was the first thing he noticed hehe. There are some chips at the butt, quite a few dints and a couple of scratches. I'm happy to leave it though, all things considering. There was a #1 I considered buying and refinishing the stock but turned out to be a lot of work with blueing and rust removal.

Can anyone help me to post a couple of photos here. I’m new to this forum and have about 100 BRNO’s and CZ’s if anyone is interested?

Yeah!!!!

Welcome...hope to hear and learn more from ya. I for one would love to see them. My recommendation is to open up a free PhotoBucket account. It's pretty easy and fairly self explanatory and they'll walk you through it. If you have problems, let us know.

The oval is supposed to be updated (#2,4, & 5's) over the more open/squared style that is on the #1's and #3's only. I have heard different things on these style of ejection-ports/receivers but I'll let others chime in on the technical applications. I will say this...in the field as a Sporter, I personally find the open port of my #1 easy to use. JMHO That said...I haven't hunted with the oval port much yet. Looking forward to hearing others opinions

Thank you for your welcome. Here are a couple of pics of some of the CZ stuff I have. There are quite a few more that are not shown. You may notice that the vertical pic has another layer behind the first. Sorry that they are not all rimfire and this is a rimfire site. If anyone is interested I’ll gladly separate them and try for better photos of any. There are about 20 rimfires though.

Edit: Sorry, I have left one non CZ in the row that is a 416 Tayler custom and of course there is the BREN which I’ll claim the Enfield BRNO connection and leave in.
