Shorts and maples are one thing, but I honestly can't see how Browning can be blowing out the standard production LR guns out to a place like CDNN,when they have a select storefront dealer network, trying to retail them.
A sign of the times, being a dealer of any sort of product, means nothing to the company.
...It could also mean that Browning is dropping the ATD. I'll ask my LGS,who is a Browning dealer, the next time that I'm in.

This is the era when you can buy Ruger 10/22's and Ruger Americam Rimfires for less than $200. I guess most people would rather go for the price point than the $500+ for a Browning, when it comes to rimfires. Also, while I don't agree with this sentiment, the SA-22 is considered "dainty" rather than "refined", as I believe it is. Tactical is "in", walnut and steel is "out".

The $100 rebate is from Browning, not CDNN. You can go to the Browning site and read the details.

I doubt that they are going to discontinue that model. But if they are, I'm going to go ahead and order a long rifle since that's on my list.

I'll be ordering one next month before the rebate expires. This month I'm ordering a 22lr Henry pump action heirloom with a custom serial number. Both will make a nice addition to my collection.

Unfortunately you are right.

The SA-22 is a classic that hasn't been beat yet. In my opinion, it is the best 22 semi auto field rifle ever built.

I wonder if the CDNN info is correct, showing the 22 short with the same length barrel as the 22lr.
