Cool I Called Smith and Wesson This Morning.....

I called S&W this morning and asked about the new M&P AR15-22 rifle. It's an AR-15 look-a-like that is made to fire 22 LR. The customer service rep told me that it will start being shipped mid to late July to distributors. It's a polymer gun, can't be converted to 5.56mm.
I also asked them why..........personal want............they never thought of producing the Model 29 8 3/8 in blue "Dirty Harry" revolver again as a part of the classic collection. I would like to have a new one in the old presentation case with the cleaning equipment. I've seen used ones....really used for sale for $850.............not interested in nicks and dings at that price.
So much for a Monday morning...........

Was it really the 8-3/8? I always thought it was a 6". Learn something new every day. I guess I'd better stop calling my 629 6" a Dirty Harry Gun

"Was it really the 8-3/8? I always thought it was a 6"."

6 1/2". They actually used both. The 6 1/2" in most of the movie, and the 8 3/8" for a lot of the promotional posters and art work.

"I know what you're thinkin'. Is this a 6 1/2" barrel or a 8 3/8" barrel? Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself..."

I had a chance to check out a few of those polymer S&W 22 rifles at the NRA Convention. They look good, but I'm going to stick with my Atchison kit and a Rick Keuhl dedicated upper. It is just a better gun.

These look really cool but the more I do research I'm thinking of getting a lower and a Spike's upper.

I'd like to see the accuracy and reliablity of the Colt m4 22lr,S&W M&P 15 22lr and the Sig 522lr

Dirty Harry

First time post, so I don't know if this has been on before.

In the movie, during the bank robbery, how many shots did he actually fire?

Just 4.
