OK, Dean owns this thread, but I'll add pics of my iron...
My pride and joy - .357 Mag OTT, definately benchrest worthy.

MKII slabside with 2X Leupold

Same slabside with a dot, plus my KMK 5.5 bull with Clark trigger and other internal improvements - my favorite rimfire.

What is the point of the high rise scope thingy?

That is a setup for handgun silhouette matches in the standing position. The scope is grabbed around the top with the off hand, bringing the rifle scope to position a couple inches from your eye. The trigger hand is position much lower, near the chest...reduces fatigue holding the gun up, as in a Weaver stance.

As "event coordinator and scorer" here at RFC for the monthly 5X5 matches, making a class for 22LR BR Pistols would be a simple addition.

Shoot your targets, send 'em on in (address in link below).

For the rules (and address); https://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums...wpost&t=207448

For a looksee at what's being turned in so far, see https://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums...play.php?f=183

BTW, here's my BR pistol, a Hammerli Model 106 Free Pistol w/ barrel by Bill Wiseman, Leupold 24X…
Many IHMSA matches w/ it and the King tube sight during the 80s and 90s.
A move to SD from the Northeast in ' 96 meant fewer and fewer matches hence the conversion to BR.

It's actually birdseye maple from a small mill in the northern Adirondacks, now closed… that i brought w/ me to SD in '96. I have a small stash along w/ some absolutely bootiful flame ash and several 12/4 clear cherry planks… put away for these kinds of projects. I guess you could call me a "packrat" when it comes to wood of this quality.

But it costs nothing to feed and doesn't "go bad." Thanks for the compliment. dd
