It's a striker-fired unlocked breech design strongly influenced by the 1900 Browning. The pistol had an interesting feature for the time: When the gun was ready to fire, the firing pin projected slightly through the back of the breech block, serving as an early handgun-cocking indicator. For cleaning, the slide pivoted forward from the frame, on a pin in front of the trigger guard. The weapon is 6 1/4 long, 4 5/16 high, and7/8 at the grip panels.

This particular weapon is a World War II capture pistol. The pistol has two magazines and the original flapped leather holster, along with the original stamped bringback paperwork. My father brought it back from Germany at the end of WWII and it is priceless to me.
Now that is cool! Thanks for posting the pictures.

Noticed earlier this morning that the surplus/extra magazine's Classic had for the Beretta 81's are now gone/sold out. The two I received were as new.

And Beretta USA does have new ones available, now.

beretta 81BB

Took delivery of my beretta 81BB with the hand select option tonite. There was some light surface rust on it in places but a good scrub with 000 steel wool and oil cleared up most of it. The extra magazine I bought with it same thing. Now to run some rounds downrange. On vacation next week looking forward to it.

Hope you will share your results here, inclusive of ammo used. I'm thinking that you made a timely buy.

I put pics of my Beretta 81 alongside a Beretta 71 in a thread here: https://www.rimfirecentral.com/forum....php?t=1177581

Mine was not a hand select from Classic, but it was pretty nice, regardless.

Went out today to run some rounds down range from the 81BB I received from Classic Firearms. Picture of my last group at 10 yards. Sorry for the 1st shot flyer. Weather was cold , drizzle, overcast, but no wind. Pistol really fits the hand well. The target only has 11 holes in it I could not get the 12th shot in the magazine. I would recommend purchasing one of these beretta 81 pistols while you can.

So, it would be very hard to possess a model 70 that was made in the early '50s. Most likely, you have a CZ-50 if it was made in the early '50s.

My CZ 50 says "CESKA ZBROJOVKA - PRAHA" on the slide. My CZ 70 says "MADE IN CZECHOSLOVAKIA" on the slide. I have never seen another that was not marked like these. You may have an extremely rare Model CZ-70. Hang onto it!

Another very rare pistol in 32ACP is the East German P1001-0, which was an unauthorized copy of the PPK.
Sir you are partially correct about the CZ-70. The receiver is made in CZ, but the barrel and trigger assembly was made in East Germany and retro fitted for a mucky muck in the mid 70s (takes CZ-50 magazines after a small modification). I also have a CZ-50 that was picked up in the 80s and is in excellent condition, again an early .32 model. I keep getting them mixed up with my CZ-52 (not .32 acp) and my East German 9x18 Makarov.
