Nice knife you picked up!

I went about two weeks ago and got an early post war Western fixed blade whose model number escapes me at the moment.

Picked up this stag handled Ka-Bar today. It is the Robin Hood model according to the collector I bought it from. No sheath. I've not yet seen one on the bay yet and was told they are hard to find. Pleased to have it.

That is an uncommon knife . . .

I've never seen or heard of this model before. Most swing guard knives I've seen are clip bladed, that appears to be a spear point design to me. At least I think its a folding swing guard, from what I can see - maybe I'm wrong.

Beautiful covers on that knife btw.

Not a swing guard JR, although it looks like one. Ka-Bar marked but not marked Union Cutlery on the back tang. 5 inch spear point as you noted. Reported to be a Model 67 by the collector that sold it to me.

My mistake - thanks for correcting me . . .

a lucky weekend

Picked this old Union Cutlery Company marked clip point known as a Bearcat, a Model 38. Cocobolo or similar handles, 6 inch blade. No KA BAR stamp on it so pre 1923 manufacturer. Non factory sheath.
