Rock Island 1911 xt 22 mag, worth the four year wait!

I've been checking weekly for these pistols for over four years and finally saw some on GB this week. Called lgs, were I had my name on the allocated list to see if they were available. Picked it up this evening and ran a box of Armscor through it without any flaws. Points and shoots like a dream! The heavy barrel really soaks up the recoil. I ran out of day light so only got to shoot at steel plate and a block of wood but I'M LOVING IT!

JB

Quit teasing us and give a proper range report with pics of the target and everything! Looks nice and I bet it was LOUD and had some nice fireballs when getting dark!

Cheers!

Wade

Congratulations! I sincerely hope you have better luck with yours than I did with mine. The more I shot mine the worse it malfunctioned. Sent it back twice. All the work ordered stated was "customer complaint verified and repaired." Afterwards, I was so disheartened that I got rid of it.

Congrats!

Mine's been great right out of the box. I had to do a bit polish on the face of the slide stop to get it to lock open reliably but it hasn't had any issues with feeding, firing, or ejecting.

It shoots to point of aim with 40 grain ammo and I agree, it was well worth the wait.

I read your previous posts before submitting mine. Sorry to hear of your troubles. I've only got a box through and encountered no problems. I normally have "if something can go wrong with anything it will be with mine" problems. I really need to get this to the range along with other guns in need of sighting in. I've got plenty of ammo at least.

As a side note, the slide IS NOT SUPPOSED TO LOCK OPEN after the last shot. It was not designed to do that. This is per Armscor.

I noticed that right away and would like to have last shot open.

If that's their stated position, then please ignore my post, and enjoy your pistol as designed.
