This is an odd convention whatever the SN is. Can you please post a close up pic of the SN? Regards, Rick.

Here's mine: Serial #140298, it had both pegs, but now both are missing, no AC-KRO-GRUV barrel marking, although my original hangtag says it has it, S331 rear sight, 17-A front sight. It was purchased new in Dec. 1969 by my father as a birthday present to me on my 15th birthday. It has a nice looking walnut stock.

The white butt spacer has yellowed a bit over time and the stock has a few small dings in it, as it was a well used (at the time) and loved gun. I will never sell it. I hate to admit this, but I haven't shot it in over 30 years! About time, don't you think?

Prior to this gun, I shot my father's old 20's to 30's era Mossberg single shot. You had to manually cock it by pulling a knob on the end of the bolt. My father, who is ninety now and is in pretty good health for his age, still has it, although the bolt is broken.

144LSB
SN 745993
Non-wlanut stock with red and green pegs
AC KRO GRUV barrel with no warning

I bought this rifle from our local Boy Scouts Council about a year ago for $165. They sold off their range rifles to buy new ones that all matched for consistancy.

This rifle was missing all of the front handstop/sling hardware and the magazine. Havlins took care of that for me. I am in the process of cutting one magazine down to 6 rounds for a semi-flush fit. I think the crown could use some attention but that's above my pay-grade and I'm not sure about my local smith working on it.

I bought it sight-unseen when I heard they were selling them. These were the first "target" rifles I ever shot at summer camp in the mid to late'80s. I thought the peep sights were the coolest thing ever. Now I wish I had bought all three that they had.......

I have sn 1309669 which I bought new in 1979. It has one red peg with an F on it. It has an AC-KRO-GRUV barrel. The wood is a plain, light colored walnut.
