survey
Just bought an almost like new model 144LSB, serial number 746571 with one red peg, no warning and the barrel accru stamp but with a S130 rear sight. I have never seen one on this forum with that particular aperture rear. Could it be a replacement? I suspect it is but it doesn't show any sign of having been removed - screws untouched as far as I can see. I have never bought a Mossie that was this close to factory original - I would rate it as NRA 98%. Am I happy? ya betcha!!! If this is indeed a replacement I would be more than willing to trade it for an S331. Any takers? PS - Walnut stock.

The 144LSB has a few minor scratches and handling marks while the 39a is absolutely mint.
Here's the specs on the 144LSB. It has one red peg and the stock appears to be walnut. The receiver is grooved for scope mounts. The rear sight is a S331. The front sight appears to be unmarked. I assume it is the original Lyman.

1341096 has been joined by 747096. By some strange coincidence they share the last 3 digits of the serial number. Specs are identical, walnut stock, one red peg, grooved receiver, barrel marked AC-KRO-GRUV, Lyman front sight, plastic buttplate with white line spacer. Rear sight was an obviously incorrect S100 mounted with countersunk screws for a No.4. I have replaced it with a correct S331.
These things are sweet!

1229969, 1 red peg, walnut stock, Lyman 17AHB front, came with no rear sight, but thanks to a great guy here, it now has a S331.

Two 144LSB rifles
Hi:
I have two 144LSB rifles.
Both rifles are walnut. S331 receiver sights. Lyman front sight. One red peg. No green peg. Sling swivels. No extras (no hang tags, manuals, or extra front Lyman sight apertures).
Serial numbers:
747567 (Excellent Maybe 92%) Thin post front sight aperture.
1305899 (Like new (maybe NRA 98%). With original adjustable forearm stop. Medium round front sight aperture.
I also have purchased four extra magazines (10 rd) from Havlin. They are perfect. Both rifles are tack drivers. I have two Anschutz 64's and a Winchester 75 and 52c, H&R 12 and a handful of other old target rifles. The Mossberg is their equal in potential (and real life) accuracy, except for the trigger.

I have 2 14lsb, 140952. With s331 sight, both pegs (I added them), no hand stop,
507801. Ac-kro-grov barrel, both pegs, came with 1, has hand stop, both seem to have after market magazines which do not feed the best.

I just picked up Mossberg model 141 serial# 1309US as a bare action. Looking for the parts to restore the old girl now. I know she is an early model from the serial number, but can anyone tell me the years she was made? ..
