Brandon, that is a very handsome Ruger you have.
I like the two tone and would like to do mine the same. How did you go about removing the finish? It looks like it's painted and would come off with paint stripper.

Rep1954, Is that a factory finish? My brother bought one simular to that with no blueing at a pawn shop fairly cheap. We figured someone removed the blue. Maybe you did the same. I would be interested to know.

Plinkerton I am listing a link to a thread here on the forum for you. I did a lot of work to the gun that required filing and emery cloth so most of the finish was gone. I ended up using emery on the whole gun and then just a damp cloth with cold blue. then I hit it with a little steel wool and a lead remover cloth. Heres the link.

Unfortunately it's still there, but they are at least putting it on the underside of the barrel now.

is it really on the underside of the barrel now... ooh! i may have to pick one of these up.. i looked locally and they have these for around 450.. kinda steep but not outa the realm of possibilitys... i cant make up my mind... maybe i should just buy it now, in case i want it later
