They are the factory grips that came with the Varmint. It was SHOT show special when I bought it so I imagine they had them/or bought them just for the limited run of Varmints.

I had a Pachmayr slip on grip with finger grooves and I loved it but after I started using the suppressor I need to clean more often so I took it off. The magazine well got so dirt that magazines had problems loading and falling free.

This company has some similar:

This one does as well:

B5152871 Forearm screw Silhouette $1.00
B5152889 sight post front silhouette $4.00
B5152887 sight post lock screw Silhouette $1.00 (order a different part if building an unlimited)
B5152753 sight assembly pro-target (target models) $45.00
B5152680 sight pro target mount screw for rib mount only $1.00

I would definetly check your top "sight rib" and make sure that there is a place to screw the front sight into, a small hole in the side or front of the rib that locks the front sight into place, a notch in the rear for the rear sight to sit in with a hole through it for the screw to secure the sight. I think the Silhouette rib and the Varmint rib are the same but I'm not sure.

If you want the sight hoods order these parts:
B5152891 sight hood front silhouette $5.00
B5152892 sight hood rear silhouette $5.00

I hope that helps! These are the parts that I ordered to build my unlimited.
I have a Varmint & all I want to do is put sights on it, & still keep my rib..can this be done?

DOGMAN, Those instructions should work for you. Obviously the forearm and screw are optional as well as the sight hoods. For just sights, you should only need the 4 sight parts listed.

I have never seen a Varmint so you should verify that it has the place to mount a front and rear sight. I believe that the rails/ribs on the varmint and silhouette are the same but not 100% sure. If you are unsure about the rib, post some pictures of the front and rear of the rib if you can. I'd be currious to see it too.

The varmint rib and silhouette rib are not the same.
The varmint rib is not setup for sights... scope only.

A few months back Brownells still listed the silhouette rib... but I checked today and could not find it.

Midwest Gun Works may be able to locate a silhouette rib for you, but none are listed on their web site.

And finally, I think Brownells still has the 14" unlimited barrel available, but I haven't been able to locate any of the ribs for them.

Hope this helps!

So JPR, the varmint rib is not drilled for the sights? This is something that several people have asked about. Thanks for the help!

Here is my new varmint. I haven’t had a chance to shoot it yet, but I hope to change this soon. Thinking about adding a forearm but will wait until I shoot it to decide if it’s needed.

Just a heads up for you long barrel dudes. Tactical Solutions is discontinuing their 10" barrels. They still have some left in the $140-$155 range. http://www.tacticalsol.com/store/pc/...4&idproduct=20 Call them to see what they still have.

Nice Gunnar! That looks great! I just got my red/red flutes 10" yesterday. Only problem is that I don't have a spare frame!
