Depends on what kind. Is it Eley Match or Tenex?

Lots of different kinds of Eley .22lr. The basic yellow box Eley Target can be found for around $5.00-$6.00/ 50 rnd box. Goes up from there.

I posted this in the 17 Mach II ammo forum because I was referring to 17 Mach II ammo.... not their 22LR ammo. I pretty well have the 22 stuff covered.

I have added the 17 Mach II info to my original post.

Thanks

Well since they are making the 17HM2 again the days of getting a premium for stashed ammo is over for now.

I have bought Eley 17hm2 ammo a couple different times hoping for better luck, don't buy it anymore. I usually end up with a number of split cases and it doesn't shoot any better than the CCI and Hornady new production runs. I'm sure some guys have some that has been meticulously cared for and doesn't give them many splits but I just haven't found it. I have 3 hm2's and 2 I have sold with the same results in all.

Sorry, I didn't realize it was in that forum. I log on from my phone so it looks a little different.

Price has likely dropped because of availability of other brand but Eley or its twin Remington is about $10 a box. Maybe even a bit less now. Worth that if you want to buy a brick to try out.

HUSHKABOOM:

Thanks for the info. I just got some for $10.00/box of 50. I thought that was OK but wanted to check.

Was at a swap meet today and tried to sell 17 boxes of Eley 17Mach2 for $150...no takers. That said, I had several bricks of Hornady for $75 each (less if buying more than one brick) and no interest in that either. I suspect it was just the wrong crowd. Plus it was really hot and muggy so I suspect people just wanted to flee to the AC.

Brother Huntschool; I'd say you did good. Eley shoots best in my cz American and only mfg without splits. I save it for squirrel season. Eley is becoming very hard to find so enjoy it.

Where did you find that they are making it again?

CCI recently released their new "VNT" line is one indication of renewed production. 17Mach2 ammo being readily available is another indication.

I sold some awhile back for 8.00 a box but he bought a gun with it too. I'd say at least 10.00
