Howdy,
Looking at a mod 1717 in like new condition, one owner. Selling for C$1500.
Reasonable price?, and how has the performance been w the 1717. Don't see Anschutz listed in 54 action in 17HMR any more. Thanks for your comments.
S.

Very reasonable. Worth 1500USD in my opinion.
I've owned a few. Real laser beams.
Yes, a discontinued model.

In good or better condition that's a good buy in my opinion, mine is an outstanding shooter.

1717

Probably the best shooting HMR out there. At one time I had what was probably the only right side safety 1717 Meistergrade in the US. I just didn't need the HB. I'd love to have one in a light barrel still. There were a hand full of them imported with the right side safety before they were discontinued. Lots of guys like the older wing safety. I hate them

I wish I had encountered a 1717 in like new condition for either $1500 CAD or USD.

I bought a 1717 right when they were being fire-sold for something significantly south of $1000 US. I acquired a 57M Cooper .17 HMR at the same time and could not see any difference in accuracy or performance; both were more than I could have asked for. The Cooper weighed more than a pound less, however, so it stayed and the Anschutz went down the road...which I now regret. I would pay $1500 for one right now, so, to the OP, do it!

Snap it up! Scarce up here. Of the many guns I've traded back and forth, the 1717 is one the few that I really regret selling.

I like it! Hard to find nice wood on the 1700 series. The custom shop has the really nice stocks.

Thanks for all the feedback, guys. Has been encouraging. Anschutz quality remains consistant.

Mine is a Tristar import which was closed out for $900, NIB. Arguably the best $900 I've ever spent on a rimfire Rifle.

Here's mine. Has thousands and thousands of rounds through it and still shoots amazingly well. Come April we'll be back in eastern Oregon whackin' sagerats!
