My old test with Velocitors was at about 30 yards. As I said, they penetrated 5 jugs. I tried this again yesterday at 50 yards (only one test). I found the Velocitor in the 4th jug and it looked Exactly like yours (in the picture).

I tested a CCI Sub-Sonic with the same results as you got. Man do those things hit the first jug hard!!!

Ok, the biggest hole in the wet news paper is from eley subsonic HP,@ 25yrds
The most expanded bullet was eley susbonic HP recovered from the newspaper, penetrated about 6.5" of soaked paper

The other 2 were remington subsonics, alot didnt expand and passed though, the two recovered produced the smaller holes in the paper to the left of the big one, these were fired at 25Yrds.-the more expanded remington made a "crack" plus it was altered to improve expansion. BTW the remingtons are pictured to the left of the ELEY in all but one photo, the one where you see the backs of the bullets the ELEY is on the right!
All were fired from a cz lux bbl 25"

I know it doesnt compare, but lets say it "augments it"

Man, what a difference, the Eleys crushed the Remingtons hands down! Have you tried anything like Eley High Velocity Hollowpoints vs. CCI Minimags and/or Velocitors in the wet papers?

Yes except for velocitors, but I lost the bullets on my trip back from my shooting area. The mini mags were impressive by the eley HV Hp destroyed them! The mm made a whop when they hit the wet paper, the Eley SMACKED the paper and knocked it off the pedestal. The MM had a pin sized entry hole and some fragmentation, penetrated about 4.5", the eley made a large bubble on impact and left a large "tunnel" through the paper, it fragmented heavily, losing pieces of the nose, what was left was about half of the original 36grn hp-the recovered base of the bullet penetrated about 5+", in addition eley outshot MM as well
I wish I had the bullets to show you pics-lets say this, I wont ever hunt with MM again, unless I dont want meat damage. Lastly the Eley Hv HP were quite a bit louder as well!

OIS, "I know it doesnt compare, but lets say it "augments it""

Have to disagree with that statement, good job, the more pictures and description of results the the more we'll learn.

Thought I'd bump this old post as a lot of folks have probably not seen it and it may answer some questions.

Please take a look at page #1 and #2 for the test results.

Thanks,

Jerry

Thought I would add my own one-shot result..... 22second video and photo

[IMG][/IMG]

This is a hollow pointed Federal auto-match 22lr 40gr at 1200fps, fired from 20ft away

these are antifreeze jugs, filled to the very top with water and then capped. bullet was in the third jug,

Eley sub in 72 modeling clay, expended bullet can be seen on the left and the entrance on the right. As the density is almost 2x of balletic gel gel results will be almost 2x the penetration in gel.

I'm bumping this again (7 years later) for those who have not seen it.

Please add any expansion/penetration tests that you have done, Please include pictures.

A special thanks to those who added their results to this thread.

Thanks,

Jerry

I no longer have access to a lot of milk jugs, so it would be nice to see someone else take this over.
