While not a pristine example it does not appear to have been tampered with in any way and has what appears to be honest wear for a 77 year old rifle, the bore is clean with sharp rifling, mechanically every thing seems to work just fine.

I look forward to some shooting of it and a couple of other experience rifles purchased recently.

Nice 61 gmd. enjoy shooting it. I'll have mine out this week squirrel hunting now that deer season up here is over.

These are great rifles Gerald. After reading your previous post on purchasing it, I dug one of mine out of the gun safe and took it out to give it a workout. Am now considering making it one of my "working" guns for carrying around the place in the side by side as I check cattle, etc.

Again, the best slide action ever made - though the model 62 is right along side of it, and I've owned, worked on, and shot most all of them.

Nice gun! Lately I've been pining for a 61 in 22 Magnum.

Had a chance at a 61 in .22 wmr several years ago and let it get away, that would be a good catch.

The Model 61 in 22 Mag really doesnít do anything for me except as a collector piece.

They would be too expensive to shoot. To me, the Model 61 is perfect in 22lr.

I totally agree with that. I have a few 22 mags and they are just too expensive to shoot and also don't have the accuracy of the 22

Nice Gerald. Some day I'll have a 61 and/or a 62.

your model 61 is one of my favorite .22's. I got a .22 that shoots one hole at 25 yds and a mag thats not as accurate as the .22, which seems to be the case with the model 61. Next time to the range I'm going to drag them out and air them out.
