Value of 647 Performance Center?

Log in to see fewer ads
I've come across a 647 Performance Center in good condition, but I can't seem to find any information on the values of these things...

It's unique and it does intrigue me, but they're asking a sizable amount for it...it may be in line with current values, I just don't know.

Also, for those who own or have owned one of these, what is or was the accuracy like? I haven't been able to find much on these but did see where lots of people complained about the accuracy of the 647's.

The few posts I found talking about the Performance Center models, was that the accuracy was much better than the standard 647's...

Any idea on the value or information you can share on these?

Well, best to start with what they are asking for it.

When S&W was making the P.C. model they sold for around 1200.00. I had aPC model , it liked the hornady 17gr. better than the 20gr bullets . The standard production 647 had issues but the factory supposedly fixed the problems from what I have heard . Those are high on collector list . The best group I got with the bipod attached and sandbag under the grip was an inch at 100 yds. I had 2-8x scope on it as the red dot that came with it was useless for any kind of precision and distance. The PC model is the most accurate choice.

Thanks for this info! I didn't really remember much about them from when they were in production, just that it was almost like they were here today and gone tomorrow.

I remember reading reviews on these revolvers. As I recall, the posted accuracy was dismal for this cartridge.

For a collector piece, a new one may be fine.

For a shooter, these are a “turkey”.

For 1200 I’d grab it.
