Those do look great. I ended up sanding the right side thumb rest off my factory grips and refinished that area. Looks a lot like those Hogue's. Makes a world of difference in shooting with my smaller hands.

Yes I thought about sanding my original grips they are a bit wide for me , but thought I would just keep them and get those hogue grips!

Hogue grips

Are the grips as wide as the factory S&W grips?
Do they feel better than the S&W factory grips?

I have a pair of Hogues, smooth no checkering. They are definitely wider / thicker than the factory grips. If you have large mitts I think they are an improvement over the factory grips because they are truly right handed with the thumb rest where it is supposed to be on the thumb side where the factory grips are sort of "semi-ambidexterous". The factory grips don't feel quite right to me, there is an extra bump on the palm side. Easier felt than described.

The Houge grips are very nicely made but the factory grips from the 70ís fit my hand better. I picked up a pair of the Houges on eBay and they looked great but for my hands they where just a bit fat. Of course your results may vary.

I like the Hogue's but ended up with Nill's on mine. I believe a little slimmer but more expensive than the Hogue's. The Hogue's a a whole seem to use nicer wood.

Here is my Nill's

The Hogues look very nice. I like the checkering on the back of the Nill grips. I ended up going with a pair of adjustable Nill target grips on my 41.
