I recently purchased the above pistol and would like to purchase a set of custom grips for it. Will standard 1911 grips fit ok? Thanks for your help.

grips

Yes, full size 1911 grips should fit your sig/gsg 1911. Be sure to get grips that are ambi cut because many grips are for models that have safety lever just on the left side. Once they are installed be very careful about making sure the right safety cut doesn't bind at all, trim a little on the inside of right grip if necessary. The metal alloy safety will break easily and then it's waiting on parts.

+1

And . . . if you think you might add a magwell to your new pistol consider the length of your new grips. There are lotsa choices out there.

If the new grips aren't cut for ambi safety, use the Sig grip for a guide/gently file out the correct slot for the safety. Finish sand w/very fine paper.
