The (FedEx) Sleigh arrived today w/ an early Christmas present (I've been a very good fellow this year). Came w/ Single-Shot Adapter. The single-shot adapter supplied IS NOT the one that was supplied with this rifle in 1956. The one supplied is original Winchester, but for an earlier gun, an A or a B. They can be interchanged. Bore looks perfect. An Extremely Clean example of the art that was Winchester ultimate precision.

"Santa's little helper" casting a critical eye.

He approves!

Now that is a good-looking cat! Is he/she a quality-control inspector? Congrats on a beauty of a rifle, and a darn fine pet to boot! Could you please post a pic of the single-shot adapter? I have seen the aluminum ones on GB claimed to be "original", but then seem them for sale on Brownells and wondered what the construction of the originals was.

Enjoy your new toy!

Thanks for the pic! I thought that's what they looked like. Can't wait to see it with the 3200 mounted up.

I would also like to hear your opinion of the 3200, especially compared to modern optics. I would like to put an older scope (for aesthetic purposes) on an H&R 5200 and have been eyeballing the Redfields. They don't seem to get the big bucks like the Lymans or Unertls, and I'm wondering why. I have a Lyman 15x Targetspot on my Remington 37 and I love it, but I also have never looked through a Leupold either!

Either way, best of luck, and thanks again for the pics.

cb

P.S. What's the inspector's name?

Chuckbiscuits,

His name is LittleOne.

I have two Redfield 3200's (both 24X's). They are very fine optical units.

Here's one on my Himmerli .308

A Unertl 24X on my CMP 52D

here he is checking out the custom-made, clamp-on scope base on his Russian CM-2

Screws. The higher step is for 50 yards, the lower step is for 100 yards.

No, a 1956 civilian example.
