Finally, barrel off!

Thanks to the Gentleman (I think the Mgr.) at the Indoor Range with the expertise and right tools, he got that hex screw loose on my Buckmark.
I gave my Contour a good clean and lube, and returned to the Range. This time to a different Range which was warmer. (I don't belong to two indoor ranges, I was a guest at the second) The second Range is relevant because it is warm. I am getting a lot of FTE's which I attributed to cold temps, and not breaking down pistol for better cleaning.
"What did I learn?" Still have FTE's. More expensive, quality ammo works better. However, cheap Golden Bullets always eject. Don't make sense.
I was actually looking at the rims of each brand of ammo for differences. Mini Mags and Fiochi work with just a few FTE's. I guess that as good as it gets.

Barrel?

When I clean my Buckmark I never remove the barrel. Make sure you clean the extractor thoroughly. .22lr ammo is generally dirty and really makes a mess of the breech face and the face of the bolt. I almost never have extraction problems. I don't think the cold has anything to do with it. I shoot outdoors in Maine year round and don't have that problem. Likely it is a cleanliness issue, be thorough.

I have the FTE problem narrowed down to the extractor. Since I've taken the gun apart I'm now certain this is not a clean, lube, or spring cause. I also know it's the extractor and not spring related because it will shoot some standard velocity ammo.
Still get FTE's with ammo it likes, just not as many.
