Maybe both of you are a little right and a little wrong. The LgS isn't paying lobbyists at the state and federal capitals to influence legislation, I'm sure the big online gun and ammo purveyors are. And yes the lgs is like a club, snooty and sometimes rude to non members. So is my local hardware store! But membership is easy , buy a cap with the the stores logo on it, they all have them, strike up a conversation or two, buy something, even if its on the clearance rack. And you're in . Stop by once a week , say hello. I even brought my lgs guys dinner. Be friendly the benefits are enormous. I had told them about a particular gun i was looking for and when a guy came in to sell one, they called me, and let me buy it straight from him in the store. He got more money, i paid less and got what i wanted .They got the FFL fee. That’s customer service.
Do i still buy online, yep. The ammo and accessories are cheaper. But i buy my guns at the stores, on sale of course . Usually used, and haggled for
Walmart and Dicks and others that have turned their backs on the second amendment, i have no use for, but Cabelas, at least mine , has some good people working there, who live and vote in our community , and i patronize them too!
My car is full of caps, and i wear the right one into the right stores! Although, i have worn a Competitors cap into the lgs once or twice , just to tick my buddies off, and to remind them there are other stores happy to take my money. Once they asked me why are you wearing that? And when i told them theirs had been confiscated at the other store, they gave me a new cap!
Be friendly, it doesnt cost much, and always pays off!
