Yer gonna chuckle.
I bought a new H001 about 7 years ago.
After putting two 550 round bulk packs downrange,,,
I sold it for a $25.00 loss.
That rifle was the biggest ammo waster I have ever owned,,,
It wasn't that it wasn't reliable because it was,,,
It wasn't due to accuracy because it was.
I just couldn't make myself slow down and aim,,,
It was just so much fun to shoot really fast,,,
I was jacking the action like Lucas McCain.
Now my favorite Henry is the one I replaced the H001 with,,,
A single-shot Acu-Bolt in .22 LR.
I love shooting this rifle,,,
It's accurate with any decent ammo brand,,,
And it much better fits my style of slow leisurely range plinking.
I like it so much I bought the Mini-Bolt as a companion rifle,,,
Now I have something for kids to shoot at the range.
As I grow older I'll starts selling/giving away my collection of guns,,,
It's entirely possible that this rifle might be my last keeper.
People have chuckled at it when they see a polymer stocked single-shot Henry,,,
But after I let them fire a 5-round course they stop their chuckling.
