Kelly’s Heroes with closed captions

Relatively early in the movie we see 5 single engine fighter planes
flying from left to right across the screen. Closed caption displays
the words “jet engines roaring”.
This was on the Sundance channel.
Who says kids aren’t learning anything in school?

Mute the television and turn on closed captioning and boom, you're reading while watching TV

Not surprised.

And those are T-6 trainers, not fighters, but that's Hollywood.

I use the close captions as I am a sufferer of tinnitus verbal can get scrambled easily for me. I dislike it when they add dialog that isn't there and miss dialog that is pertinent. Then there is the spelling and grammar, almost worse than online.

A side note was wandering though that front room when the wife had some cop show on. SWAT backing up a detective, who is cuffing a bad guy, levels his EBR at the suspect and tells him to calm down or he will shoot, with the detective directly behind in the line of fire.

How about the judgement that a S&W 38 was used when 1, no autopsy 2 no field work done 3, 38 357? or for that matter a 9mm. My wife hates for me to watch TV with her.

Latest Hollywood goof I've noticed was in an older western, I think High Chaparral. Two bad guys were hiding out in an old cabin, using a kerosene lamp. They hear horses in the distance, and one bad guy tells the other to turn off the light. That doesn't sound right, referring to a kerosene lamp?.....

I like the closed captions as my hearing is very poor, but sometimes they are badly off. Can be pretty funny when what they show is so ridiculous that it's laughable.

99.99% of viewers don't have a clue

Hollywood don't care. They think we are all stupid.

That's why I like movies so much like Battle of Britain with real Spits, Hurricanes, Messerschmits, Heinkels, etc. And one of the things I loved about Kelly's Heroes was that they found some actual Tiger tanks. I was amazed.

Think I heard that the last operational Tiger was used in the recent movie Fury?
If we think the captions on movies are bad just go to the news.
About a month ago they showed a table full of guns seized in a raid to thwart a supposed 'school shooting', they were air-soft and paint-ball guns from what I could see. Then that story disappeared......
