Goodbye cletus hungwell. With a call name like that, you can never be forgotten, and I'm sure you're among the Only one year older than I am.... so young. Be seeing you soon enough.

Wow

I've not posted in a while, but like a lot of folks, "Cletus" meant RFC to me and his posts embodied the soul of this place - good natured fun, curiosity, sharing and interesting conversation. That's a pretty good set of bootprints to leave as a legacy to so many people he never met in person.

I've thought a lot about death over the years and concluded that it's good to keep in mind that "none of us is getting out of here alive". Keeps the mind focused when you realize you only have today to make the world better. Sounds like Rusty (it's nice to be able to use his real nickname ) knew that as well as anyone. I'm joyous to have had the benefit of his writings and good humor. Now I'm tearing up, %%%%it...

To his friends and fans here, and his family and friends at home, I hereby coin and propose a new phrase for our breathren here on RFC which we can all use to carry on his tradition. A little old fashioned pagan imortality for him, if you will: What would Cletus do?

When you have a chance to get angry at someone, WWCD? A chance to share information with a noobee or demean them? To make a friend or make an enemy? To seek out new knowledge? To laugh at one's self? What WOULD Cletus do? I suspect he would like to know he made a difference in the world that carries on.

I wish you all a Good Day, ladies and gentlemen. I enjoy your company. Thanks and Peace to you all.

I posted my sentiments here: https://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums...&postcount=113

I have no doubt Rusty is already tinkering and experimenting with the mechanics of heaven: "See here, Lord, if you replace that spring with a bobby pin and turn around this part..." God bless him and his family. We were certainly blessed by this man who always seemed to give more than he took.

THE MEASURE OF A MAN

Author: Anonymous

Not - How did he die? But - How did he live?
Not - What did he gain? But - What did he give?

These are the things that measure the worth
Of a man as a man, regardless of birth.

Not - What was his station? But - had he a heart?
And - How did he play his God-given part?

Was he ever ready with a word of good cheer?
To bring back a smile, to banish a tear?

Not - What was his church? Not - What was his creed?
But - Had he befriended those really in need?

Not - What did the sketch in the newspaper say?
But - How many were sorry when he passed away?

These are the things that measure the worth
Of a man as a man, regardless of birth.
Thanks, JG. When you look at a man's tombstone, it's not the begining date or the end date that matters: it's the dash inbetween. Wish I could remember who had the song about that...

Thanks, Cletus. Godspeed...

Here is a picture of Bob ministering in song. Bob was active in his Baptist Curch and was solidly saved.

A good man that will be really missed.

Rest in peace, Rusty. Our paths never crossed here but maybe they'll cross on the other side.

Rusty is resting easy in the Arkansas clay. I have know him over 20 years and he was a very fine man and a good friend to me. The last good time we had was shooting his 22's not long ago. His life was well lived and he blessed a lot of people. Do not be sad such a man has died, rejoice that he lived!

See you on the other side of the river old friend.

I am sitting here looking at all the post about this man. I am fairly new here, But I see a lot of folks here who thought highly of him.

In his passing I am reminded of my own father passing away, many years ago, and I remember the times we had together.

Rusty died young as my Dad did.

Thank you Rusty for reminding me of my Dad and how much I miss him...

May God Bless you, and say hi to my dad.
