This is sad. I feel like I am at a funeral. I was lucky to get one of the final run.

Ahh, didn't know about the 22Mag. Good luck in your M2 quest.

NICE, I'm happy to have 1. That's the most impressive pic I've seen on Rimfire.

In a nut shell the 453 came with a single set trigger. This was a premier feature on the Brno and CZ centerfire rifle line up. It remains on the 527 short action Mauser and 550 magnum (safari ctgs) long action. It is not used on the 557 centerfire rifles on the medium (308)and standard (30-06)length. I like the set trigger. Too bad how things turned out. Everything changes.

There are no other functional differences, although some features, like stocks, will not interchange. I may have missed something, but that is all I know. The stocks between many of the 452 models do not interchange either. The 452 full stock had a special mounting. I believe some of the varmints differed based on caliber. All that was simplified in the 455 lineup. I think the 455 full stock action mount was a mistake. CZ maybe a little weak in the engineering department.

I read here there was a failed effort to provide an optional set trigger on the 455. Again, CZ maybe a little weak in the engineering department.

edit: I was rethinking my answer and it seems the 453 had a little better level of finish. Or it maybe more that the level of polish varied among all the models of 452 and over time periods the Americans varied. The 453 was at the least the equal of the best 452 finish. As with set trigger, the USA consumer did not seem to care or else notice how 452 models varied or the 455 American finish changed.
