Remington ADL 700 stock/action screw

Log in to see fewer ads
Yep... bought a Remington ADL synthetic stock.
But my stock/action screw is to short.
Called Brownells...
No help there.. they gave me the part number for the TRIGGER screws.. I don't need the trigger screws.
Went back to fastnal.. no joy there either.
The screw head way to big.
Ace hardware.. nope.
Help.. ?

Not sure what you are saying. Too long is not same as too wide at the head of the screw. Which is it? Both?

There are, indeed, different length front and rear 700 action screws. I ran into this issue when I replaced a stock on one of mine with another Remington factory stock. Turns out screw length varies according to the stock the rifle was shipped with.

As for width, dunno. You might have to turn the screw in a lathe.

BW... gimme the exact length you have (hopefully ya have calipers) .. I may have a longer one for you. I have a situation with a Christensen Rifle (700 platform) that I needed longer screws and may have an extra... just measured the ones I have = top of head to the bottom of threads is 1.255"... PM me if it will work.

Screws

They do make 3 different length screws to hold the action to the stock . The differences is from the different design trigger guard

With a DeWalt orbit sander..
Yep...I know ...I know.. kinda bubba's....
But for a brush gun.. ?? I think it'll be ok.
That's a 24" Douglas 1-8 6.5x55 Swede barrel.
They even put the iron sights on it.
Shoots like a dream.

Thanks Chaser...
Yes.. I thinks it's going to be just fine.
Surprised, that the washers fit perfectly.
And ..it's adjustable..
Getting all threads screwed in.. and recoil lug is solid.
Good to go I believe.
