Thanks Zukiphile. FWIW my 10/17s run great too. And very accurate. But since I have stepped away from 10/22 modding (It's all too easy now) I am an AR nut. Have LOTS of different calibers up to .458 SOCOM so this will fill the bill at the other end. I have a safe full of 10/22s. If this .17 pans out I might just start giving them away.

That was my path too, but not because it was too easy. I had the trigger groups figured out, and I found a great stock, but every receiver was its own animal. I was looking at receivers with integrated picatinny rails and thought I know what else has integrated picatinny rail, and I already know how to free float those. I kept one 10/22 with a 17 inch Green Mountain barrel that shoots 50 yard groups two bullet wide.

I put in my request for a .17HM2 barrel from LW. Hoping they received enough requests for the order to move forward. Any other interest?

From my casual count, that puts us at the three needed -- I imagine I'll be hearing from them shortly.

Nope... four.

I'm so easily swayed, sometimes.

Now I have to decide on all the other parts...

You'll be along for the grand adventure. I'm going to use a RTB slick side upper, and I wanted to use the ALG V0-E handguard, but they seem to be discontinued, which is a major bummer, it was the best rail available for minimalists like myself...Oh well. I'll have to branch out, or rob it from another build. I have a Kaw Valley 4.5" linear comp threads for the faux-can look.

I just need to choose an optic.

Let's hope it's as much fun (and ultimately successful) it was with the 10/22.

I have a number of optics, but I dont have an upper receiver yet, or a handguard... I have your bolt weight set (brass/tungsten), but will need to source some heavier recoil springs, if they turn out to be necessary.

There's a stainless and tungsten version coming soon. If you happen to wear out the brass one, contact me and we'll get you upgraded once we have them in hand.

Got confirmation on the barrel order today... looking forward to this... but first!

My Kriss Defiance is at the LGS, so I'll have that to play with while I wait for the .17 barrel.

I came here to say this. They are producing a few extras so that others who want on the HM2 train later on will have barrels available.

If they are anything like my LW .22LR barrel they are going to take some heat to the receiver ring to slip them in. They are great barrels.
