Wednesday air rifle practice. Had another storm cell roll through as I was driving to the range, but we got set up and shot with no rain and very little wind, just muggy and hot.

Match #1, NRA Air Rifle resettable, yards
Date: 6-3-20

Round #1, Sporter Rifle:
Class: Master
Air Arms TX200 Mk-III
Leupold M8 -24X
Air Arms Heavy (10.34) pellets

Chickens - 6
Pigs - 8
Turkeys - 7
Rams - 8
TOTAL - 29

Those darn Chickens again.

Round #2, Open Rifle:
Class: AAA
Air Arms HFT 500
Weaver T-24
Air Arms Heavy (10.34) pellets

Chickens - 9
Pigs - 9
Turkeys - 8
Rams - 9
TOTAL - 35

Yeah!

Round #3, Open Rifle:

Chickens - 9
Pigs - 10
Turkeys - 8
Rams - 8
TOTAL - 35

Woot!

The club air rifle match is this Sunday so will post scores after (all three rifles this time).

Our first club air rifle match since March. Wind was up a bit and kept things rather interesting.

Match #1, NRA Air Rifle resettable, yards
Date: 6-7-20

Round #1, Target Rifle:
Class: AAA
Anschutz 2002 SuperAir
JSB Diablo Exact RS (7.33) pellets
Sightron BigSky @ 24X

Chickens - 6
Pigs - 8
Turkeys - 4
Rams - 6
TOTAL - 24

Not great but not bad considering the wind.

Round #2, Sporter Rifle:
Class: Master
Air Arms TX200 Mk-III
Leupold M8 24X
JSB Exact Heavy Diablo (10.34) pellets

Chickens - 7
Pigs - 6
Turkeys - 6
Rams - 4
TOTAL - 23

Too many misses on Pigs and Rams for a good score here.

Round #3, Open Rifle:
Class: AAA
Air Arms HFT 500
Weaver T-24
JSB Exact Heavy Diablo (10.34) pellets

Chickens - 9
Pigs - 9
Turkeys - 7
Rams - 4
TOTAL - 29

Started this round on Turkeys and kept hitting high. Dialed down a bit but didn't dial all the way back up for Rams so I kept going under. Didn't figure it out until I had already missed too many. Chickens and Pigs saved my score from being a total mess.

Next Wednesday's practice will be smallbore and we'll have our club match next Saturday.

Smallbore practice before our monthly match on Saturday. A bit hot but manageable, and not much wind to worry about.

NRA steel, meters
Anschutz 1710
Leupold Vari-X III / Premier boosted scope @ ~30X
SK Rifle Match
Date: 5-3-20
Class: AAA/AAA

Round #1
Chickens - 5
Pigs - 8
Turkeys - 9
Rams - 6
TOTAL - 28

Started on Chickens and really got going on Turkeys. I needed to come down a bit on Rams but didn't figure it out until after the first bank.

Round #2
Chickens - 8
Pigs - 9
Turkeys - 7
Rams - 7
TOTAL - 31

Nice to get another score in the 30's again.

Weather should be decent for Saturday's match. Let's hope I can capitalize on it.

First official smallbore club match since the shutdown. Wind kept things a bit spicy (and scores lower than normal).

NRA steel, meters
Anschutz 1710
Leupold Vari-X III / Premier boosted scope @ ~25X
SK Rifle Match
Date: 6-13-20
Class: AAA/AAA

Round #1
Chickens - 5
Pigs - 7
Turkeys - 5
Rams - 7
TOTAL - 24

Rough start with only five Chickens.

Round #2
Chickens - 9
Pigs - 9
Turkeys - 4
Rams - 7
TOTAL - 29

Started on Rams and felt good about things until the Turkeys gave me the final smackdown.

It was a little dryer than normal so the 90 degree heat coupled with the wind didn't feel as bad as usual. We had a pretty good turnout with 16 people showing up including two guys from Austin (about 2 hours away).

Wednesday air rifle practice with the guys. A moderate wind was present but not too bad.

Match #1, NRA Air Rifle resettable, yards
Date: 6-17-20

Round #1, Target Rifle:
Class: AAA
Anschutz 2002 SuperAir
JSB Diablo Exact RS (7.33) pellets
Sightron BigSky @ 24X

Chickens - 6
Pigs - 6
Turkeys - 8

TOTAL - 27

Kind of sad when your Turkey score saves the day.

Round #2, Sporter Rifle:
Class: Master
Air Arms TX200 Mk-III
Leupold M8 24X
JSB Exact Heavy Diablo (10.34) pellets

Chickens - 5
Pigs - 10
Turkeys - 9
Rams - 5
TOTAL - 29

Started on Turkeys and thought I had lost it all on Rams and Chickens, but managed a good comeback on Pigs.

Round #3, Open Rifle:
Class: AAA
Air Arms HFT 500
Weaver T-24
JSB Exact Heavy Diablo (10.34) pellets

Chickens - 10
Pigs - 9
Turkeys - 6
Rams - 5
TOTAL - 30

Started on Pigs with my one miss being my first shot right in the hole between the legs. Had problems on Turkeys and Rams but again, a strong finish on Chickens (usually a problem for me).

Wednesday air rifle practice. The forecast in the morning said we were going to get rained out so I only packed my Open rifle just in case. Turned out that the rain cleared out by the afternoon and we had a near-zero wind practice. (Should have packed my Target rifle!)

I put a scope on this gun to do some ammo testing. I figured since she was scoped I may as well get my effort out of it. I use this gun for the Off-Hand Iron Sight matches. I am pleased with my score, 2nd best ever.

I also took my 12 year old grand-daughter to the match. She only hit one pig, but she said she had fun. She wants to do it again.
