XXII Semi Auto Trigger

I have an Italian XXII I picked up not long ago. The trigger adjustment screw doesn’t do jack to change the pull weight. It’s lighter than I like on a hunter/pinker. I’ll tolerate the take up. I don’t mind the over-travel. But I need to get this thing up around 2lb to be any fun.

There isn’t any resistance on the screw, whether it is way out or all in. I would expect some resistance, probably increasing as it’s threaded in, increasing weight as it goes.

I suspect a spring is missing. Any ideas?

Edited for posterity:

I found the manual I forgot I had. It’s called a ‘sear engagement screw’ and there is no associated spring. I’ll keep fooling with it. If anyone has been inside this trigger unit and understands how it functions (the sear adjustment screw) I’d sure enjoy hearing about it.
