Cool. I think the brass all the way around on your BL will really stand out. Rear, front, ring. I like it.
Anyway, my stocks are done, oiled, cured, satin sheen and ready for mounting. Not bad.

The stock look awesome. I may have to do that with a wax finish on my Micro Midas.

Thanks. I'm going to wax too to make a sheen like on my lady friend's SA I did for her. Waiting for a full two day on the oil before the wax. It does look dull in the pic, but it is better in person. You know, pics don't do it justice. My camera is old and my POS phone isn't any better. And the BC Stock wax is just the thing. At least I can assemble and also wait for the Skinner order.

The stock looks nice now. Big difference from my pic in the "saddle ring" thread.
I adjusted the color to make it look like an old western picture.

BTW, the Burris, rings and adapters were sold. I knew it would be grabbed soon with that price. Lucky buyer. He got a great deal.

Thanks! I decided to do a double half hitch knot on the ring instead of the over-end loop. Stays much tighter that way. Cut the fringe short because it would get caught in the lever racking it.
Now....Skinner, where are you?
Oh, I also bought a brown leather lace-on butt pad cover. Might as well go full tilt on this coach carbine. It will also add 5/8" to the length of pull. Get it at the exact regular BL length on the butt end, since mine is the Midas.
Can't wait to see your end result with all that nice brass against the blued.

Got the leather butt cover today and it looks like it belongs there. Measured the length of pull and it's 1/8" longer than the regular BL.
So, 16' barrel, full length stock....my handy dandy coach carbine rifle.

Ok, here ya go:
Turned out very nice. Oiled stock, vinyl lure paint on the front .600" sight tip, Skinner rear, saddle ring, leather butt cover and my backup rear sight which is just a reamed out peep blade from a Ruger Mini-14 Ranch rifle. Folded down, it doesn't get in the way of sighting.

Almost forgot...,
I have the 1/8" aperture on it now for my sighting in at the indoor range (25 yards). I'll also bring the 3/32" one with me and check them both out with my old eyes. If I need a bigger dia I can ream the smaller one to 5/32" (skinners largest size). Save myself the cost/shipping. If the .600" is still too short, I'll have to get their .650" and start the fitting process over. I know it will be the wider 1/2" base over the 3/8", but hanging out a 1/16" on each side of the barrel won't really be a factor.

File each side of the .650 then polish with 2000 wet/dry paper.

ViperR, that looks great. I Love the feel of wood over the finished products. Just warm and smooth and very comfortable to hold. You did an excellent job.
