Second time out. 25 - 5 shot groups. Still to cold to head outside so I tried out some different types of ammo indoors at 25yds.

It's a pretty good shooter at this distance. A bit better than the CZ 452.
This is right out of the box. The trigger is a little heavy. This weekend I'll adjust it. I'm using an older Swift scope.
I'm very anxious to get it outside at some better distances.

edit to add - I'm still learning this shooting off of bags and using a scope thing. Learning new skills post retirement....

Well that sure has promise. I shot the 50 yard version of that target yesterday, but one shot per circle. Informative and a nice switch from the groups.

What criterion determines if a flyer is "me" or not?

Years of bullseye shooting has taught me to call my shots. I'm consistent in getting flyers at 11 or 12 oclock no matter the ammo so there must be something in my technique, which I'm still working on.

I'm the same, if I get a consistent flyer in the same location it's definitely shooter technique. It's too consistently placed to be anything else.

I used to have a problem with the point of aim creeping down as I squeezed the trigger, whether from muscle tension or shoulder pressure, I don't know.
To compensate, I'd start the crosshairs above the target, knowing the point of aim would come down. Nasty habit.
I'd get shots just like yours, unexplainably high left at 11 o'clock.

I've since cured the problem, by making sure my position (prone with bipod and rear bag) is correct and there's no undue muscle tension holding the rifle on target.
I've never shot better ☺

Very nice shooting. I also may have experienced the same technique issue yesterday shooting one of my rifles. Good job though.

Thanks. Yesterday I adjusted the trigger to about as light as I can make it without changing the factory spring. As long as the range stays open I'll be trying that out later this week.

This Tikka makes for 3 rifles I have that seem to shoot really well. A fine dilemma to be in later in the season.

A CZ 452 Varmint and a Marlin 2000.
The 452 is on long term loan to me. My brother has shot 3/8" groups with it at 100yds.
The Marlin is an early one with the match barrel.

I also have a steel barrel Bergara bxr. Haven't really given it much of an accuracy workout yet.
