I picked this up in a trade last week and spent some time with it at the range today. Before today I had exactly 5 shots experience with peep sights so this was a learning experience. Shot from a Caldwell rest at 25yds.IMG_3732.jpg

The gun has potential. Trigger is pretty good. Peep sights are fun. There is a 5 shot CCI SV group on the left side of the target that's pretty small, maybe 1/4". That was toward the end of the session and I had a few things figured out.

Well there's a fascinating gun I never knew existed. Wish Marlin (or CZ, or Ruger, or Savage...there are no good options under $1000) would bring this one back, I'd love something like this.

I got one that Florida man painted black, and even stripped a hole out for the front globe sight. I scrubbed off the black paint, pulled off the lyman sights, and put first a rifle basix, then a jard trigger in it. Also a dip rail, Nikon prostaff rimfire 9x40 scope, and a #6 bipod adapter, and Harris bipod with a lever. It's fun breaking it out, I took it to a nrl22 event, didn't come in last, I sabotaged my own chances to shoot better not using the marlin on every stage. My new ruger competition 10/22 is not as accurate! It beat some volquartsen rifles and a Kidd supergrade with crazy expensive scopes.

Savage could rework the Mark II FVT to turn it into a Biathlon style without too much trouble. Better sights and a laminated stock.
