Read somewhere on the net that Nikon, scope division, was going or gone. Any truth to that?

I now have 3 Nikon P3 Rimfire 3-9x40 EFR AO's. I did have just one, but I got 2 more a few months ago when word got out about Nikon was dropping there scope division. Got them mounted up on other 22's. Love 'em!

Wow. I guess I have noticed they have gotten less and less expensive over the years. Honestly, I have not been overly impressed with the ones I've looked through in the past 6-7yrs at their price points. Vortex may be the new Nikon, and I've kind of been a Vortex hater even though I do/have owned a few of their products.

I was under the impression that vortex has 3 or 4 tiers in their scope line up. I think 3 but anyways the second one up from the bottom seams to be pretty fair and comparable to my prostaff 4 or 5 . I donít remember which one it is.

I hate that. I try to standardize my scopes to make it easier to shoot various guns without having spend time trying to re-acquaint myself with different scopes. The last half dozen have been Nikons. I hate to start over.

Not sure what you mean by starting over, its not like they are taking away your scopes lol, keep on keeping on with those Nikons. I have 2 prostaff 5's and consider them great scopes, nice and clear and perfect for yote hunting on my 223's.

The only way to resolve that is to find one you really like - then buy a truckload of them . . . Like Signalman must have done.

My scope brands are all over the place and I wish I would have standardized for sure.
