That's about the high end of the middle average from what I've seen, with Armscor 40 grain jhp's going for .28 and up, with more prominent name brands running anywhere from about .30 to over .50 online. My model 96/22mag loves 'em! But having given up on ever seeing them again, I just ordered a 500 round brick of 30 grain Hornady V-max. You will sell some for sure!

I was in a local Dunhams in North Metro Detroit this afternoon and they had 2 50 round boxes of Winchester 40 grain hollow points for $14.99 ea . I bought them both . The first I have seen on a local store shelf in 2 years other than gun shops charging much more . They also had Winchester Varmint Tipped in 22 magnum for $19.95 per box of 50 but I don't shoot them . Lots of CCI HMR at $15.99 .

I like the Winchester gray box 40 grain Full Metal Jacket, but haven't seen that in stores or on line in a long time.

Read somewhere that Winchester only does one production run of 22 mag ammo each year. If true, the ammo would be readily available at that time then dry up as the supply dwindles.

Might be worth looking in the Trading Post Classifieds, under the rimfire ammo heading

I found a few boxes the other day.............................the local place had a 1 box limit, so I bought one.

13.99 for 50 rounds.

The first I had seen in two years or so of this particular winchester silver box 40gr HP.

Good news is...............I shot two three shot groups with them at 50 yards with my Anschutz 1516 and got on 5/8" group and one 3/8" group.

It shoots almost as good as the hornady 30 grain V max out of my rifle and shoots much better than 30gr CCI Maxi mag +V and 40 grain CCI Maxi Mag out of my rifle.

I'll be buying more whenever I find it.

I have plenty, 1000's of 40 gr Winchester Super-X FMJ and JHP.
I don't trust it though. This is why. Multiple lot numbers are affected.
I will keep it though, I don't intend on passing my misiries on to anyone else. besides, they aren't accurate, but, My CMR 30's will shoot them, so long as I run a bore snake thru it every 2 mag dumps.

Keep an eye on Ammoseek.com I check it at least daily and have seen Winchester 40 gr. fmj's and 40 gr. jhp's popping up for the last week or so. They are still priced higher than they should be but once in a while Cabela's or one of the other suppliers will put some on at a decent price (as low .28 per round for the fmj's and .40 ish for the jhp's) Lot's of Rem 33 grainers showing up there too.

Cabela's had some 40gr FMJ's online last week for 28 cents/round.
