Factory twist rates run in the 1in 16 area from what I see after a quick internet search. This seems to work well for bullets running from 30 to 50 grains. You could go to faster twist. However , you would eventually run into issues with rotational speed. A 1 in 12 would probably be good for the heavier bullets, but, may overstabilize the very lightest. 22 mag jackets are not very heavy and if you get the bullet spinning fast enough it may fly apart. If you went to a 1 in 9 twist the rotational rate increase would be tremendous. At 1900 fps with a 1in 16 twist the bullet spins at 85500 rpm. A 1 in 9 twist would increase the rpm to 151620 rpm.

Thanks. Over spinning and coming apart was the concern. I had seen rates between 12-16. I wondered where the point of catastrophic separation was.
