I’ve seen a couple including mine recently that have been real nice. Were the 455s pretty plain?

He's just working his way into a non full stock wmr 457.
Some of the 455s were plain. And other than pictures I've never seen a 457.

I think CZ is using the same old wood as they have for many years. Luck of the draw.
Also I think you will see less figure through that dark brown finish they now use.

I have seen some pretty plain looking 457’s posted here on RFC , especially when they first came out

I'd disparred of the 457's until I came across my Varmint by chance at a dealer out of town, since then I've seen several with good to excellent wood, the dark stain doesn't help in my opinion but it seems to be the new norm.

There are quite a few really good looking 457's. Unfortunately neither my Varmint or MRT are in the game. But they are still good shooters !

Nice wood on some of the new 457s might/could be 'sucker bait' for the wood lottery prospects playing the odds IMO.

You could be right .
Sales of the 457ís may have dropped some , so they released a few ď lottery winnersĒ , knowing folks would be showing them off, bumping sales back up .
Of course my wife says Iím a Conspiracy theorist.

The pictures of your recently acquired 457 Lux certainly could help stimulate sales. I REALLY donít need another .22 rifle, but your pics greatly tempted me!

457 Wood

I picked this one up a while back, as I have a Lilja M2 barrel, so I needed a donor. I have shot it some, if it turns out to be a good shooter I may need to pick up another one for a donor. Not sure if I hit the lottery or not.
