High Standard Citation Question from Newbie

Hello. I've been a member for quite a while but I think this is my first post. I have owned a High Standard Sport King for years but I recently purchased a very nice Hamdon Citation with the 7-1/4" barrel and two sets of stocks (one set is flat stocks from Herretts without a thumbrest).

I noticed last night that the right hand Herretts stock is loose on the pistol frame even with the stock screw tight. I removed it to look and the slide lock and spring fell out. Is this normal? Is the stock panel all that holds the slide lock in place?

I'm in my 70s and and owned firearms for most of my life but I am new to the Citation. BTW, is is a beautiful pistol.

Thanking all in advance for any advice and help!

Nothing to worry about. The grip panel holds the slide lock assembly in place. Enjoy your fine pistol!
