Not sure about the stainless tapered barrel? Have not had time to verify but I asked around and got nothing with a SS thin barrel. I have seen them with a bull barrel just can not find any thin tapered barrel pics. I asked around at the LGS and it sparked a big debate. Good luck.

No, they did not. The 5.25" was closest.

P-4 (0189) - Blue, adj. sights, 4" bull bbl.
P-512 (00193) - Blue, adj. sights, 5-1/2" bull bbl.
P-512G (00137) - Blued steel barrel and bolt and stainless receiver. Estimated 2,000 produced as a special distributor offering.
P-678GC (0196) - Blue, adj. sights, 6-7/8" slab sided bull barrel, special distributor offering.
P-8GC (00197) - Blue, adj. sights, 8" slab side bull barrel, called the "Great Eight", special distributor offering.
KP-4 (0190) - Stainless, fixed sights, 4-3/4" tapered barrel
KP-4B (00167)- Stainless, Adjustable sights, 4" bull barrel
KP-514 (0163) - stainless, Adjustable sights, 5-1/4" tapered barrel, produced for a few years only.
KP-512 (0192) - stainless, Adjustable sights, 5-1/2" bull barrel

I suspect the OP was looking for something like what would have been called a KP-6, which Ruger never made, at least in a 22/45 configuration.

Yes, exactly.
I've always felt that it would be a really good hunting/hiking etc sidearm. Light but durable, long enough sight radius to be pretty accurate, etc.
I don't want one bad enough to make up one of my own though...
Unless I came across 2 guns that would still make 2 nice guns after the switcheroo..
