Olympia magazine

Just to revive the topic...

I bought a 5-rd and 10-rd Weatherby magazine from Numrich to try in my Olimpia.

The 5-rd would not fit in the magazine well.

The 10-rd magazine fits, but two things were prevented me from using it for now...
1. The bump at the front of the magazine is higher than on a Beretta magazine, so it wouldn't go all the way into the magazine well to lock in or reach the bolt. I tapped it down at the range, but it will need to be filed off.

2. Once I tapped down the magazine stop and got the magazine into the well, the thumb lug on the follower hit the side of the magazine well. The Beretta magazines do not have one. I think I can grind that down so it is flush with the side of the magazine.

The notch that catches the magazine release appears to be in the same location on the factory magazine, so after I do the two above things, hopefully it will work.

You are on the right track with respect to the 10 round magazine .... I filed off the bump in the front, and filed off the follower button on the side to be flush with the mag body. I tested it and so far no feed problems. I too had a problem with the 5 rounder Weatherby Mk II mag (wouldn't fit and I had to file it down all over). Big thanks to Kadima for the tip on the Weatherby Mk II magazine.
