Here is my Savage/Anschutz 64 Match from 1964. I just bought it a few weeks ago and its turning out to be a fine rifle. I'm very please with it so far, but I feel like it will get some tweaking in the future.

Just In case

I'm posting these pictures of my new BR-50 stock just in case nobody has seen one like this before. This one is a full 3 in. wide in the forearm, were the walnut ones are not.

Scott,

That is one of the most beautiful stocks I've seen... Looks great.

Who did the work for you... or did you mill it yourself???

The stock is made by someone for Anschutz (not sure who). Anschutz sells them as there own. I got this at Champion Shooters Supply. I was there Tuesday. I like talking to Carl in person. Carl said Anschutz is not making the walnut ones anymore. He ordered the walnut ones and this is what he got. $640.00. Kinda a lot of money but you only need one. Carls the one who pointed out to that walnut ones were only 2.25" wide and this one is a full 3' wide that rules allow. He also had one for the SQ. action Anschutz too. I'm thinking I want a round action 54 Match action with a 5018 trigger and a after market barrel in it someday. This is just a start of that gun. I shoot ARA Brenchrest. I'm a big big! Anschutz fan but there barrels are there weak point.

Scott,

Thanks for the reply, I will look into it.

Your proposed 54 action, trigger and aftermarket barrel sounds like good advice.

bigredplane, its a Lilja drop in barrel 27" long, standard bore, 1-16 twist , head spaced to 42 thou, loctited into the action, I have had this barrel and action for a few years it has the extractor slot cuts not the cone breech ! shoots as good as it looks

Cheers

So that was your stock I saw up there when I was in the store last week, I was drooling over it. I love living 10 mins away from Champion
