I like all the responses one little question got. I don't have to decide, I own some of each, I do like what RYANPOE said, I sell the ones I don't like. I do own a new savage classic and it is real nice and a good shooter. I would have to say I have gotten rid of more savages than cz's. Unlike the group SOPHIA runs into I will try anything regardless of where it's made. Now I think I'll go checkout the savage forum.

Took a look at that Classic

As my old granny used to say, "Mules in horse harness". It's still a MKII. Lots of complicated machinery in that action, unlike the relatively simple CZ. Walnut stocks a classic do not make.

My bad. The length of this Thread (1 1/2 weeks) outlasted my memory. I forgot you asked for "opinions," not advice on purchase.

Did you guys read the recent Gun & Ammo? One article was a round up of various rimfires. CZ scored second place, the Savage (with a thumbhole stock) took first! Not in accuracy but in overall "likey likey". The author was not CZ savvy (said you could "fix" the 452 trigger by "spending a few more dollars on a 453"). Um, you could fix that trigger with a 14 cent spring and a little washer thingy....And that 453 is going to run you about $100...Not a "few more dollars". But I digress...

Anyhow...I thought of this thread when I was reading the article and it made me laff. No offense but a few folks might be taking this all too seriously.

I was thinking the same thing. I got a few chuckles out of that article.

I have the dangedest collection or better accumulation of different brand firearms you ever saw, I like accurate rifles and pretty much all of mine are and thats why so many of them are CZ's. I really do not care whose name is on it, the my brand or no brand guys are like the Chevy/Ford/Dodge only morons, I research and try to buy the most for the least! I have a CZ FS in .22lr that I should pick up today, just got a Kimber Hunter Silhouette at the gun show Saturday at what I think was a good deal, and am buying a TOZ 78 from another RFC member. Tell me what brand is my brand cause I don't know.

Gerald
