I put the heavy one from a 795 that is for hyper velocity .22..Here is a link from where I bought it.. I am convinced this heavier spring is a great idea if you have the 717..I think it is around a 4 pound heavier spring if I remember right..I think a guy could even go heavier and have no cycling problems..I am thinking a guy could go up to atleast a 20 or 22 pound spring..But not sure where to look for one heavier though.

The 717m2 has a bigger buffer and heavier bolt.

I have some 22 LR older than the fellow above described-quite a bot and I dont have any intention of shooting it up anytime soon, just little by little.

Grandkids may help this summer.
