I love my CZ 455 Ultra-Lux with the 28in + barrel. It handles all of the CCI, SK and Lupua 22LR grades that I have shot with a quiet pfffft!. With a Nikon 2X7 Rimifire scope gives touching patterns at 50 yds.

Drop an inch off your requirement and get a Remington 541s dont go the cheap way out ..the cz is an all right choice but trainers, lux and ultra lux have drop in the stock makes it hard for some to get a cheek weld.

If you liked your 541 you can also get a 581 that is the economy version. Non adjustable trigger and slimmer barrel. Grooved receiver.

Yes, Winchester 69 and 72 series rifles have long barrels. I believe only the 69 are found with scope grooves. The CZ 452 trainer is another really good choice! Mine is one of the most accurate 22s I've ever shot.

A lot of good suggestions. I remember a Chinese bolt action with long barrel. I have to admit to my phobia now. I used to trade for used guns but now every gun I own was bought new. Just like to know everything that's happened to it. Don't lend them out and that is based on bad past experiences. May have to make exception to buying new in this case.

I have a model 41 Remington that had a squib when I was a kid, it had a couple squibs and had a couple of rings in the last few inches of the barrel. I put it on my lathe and bored the rings out and it shoots great now 60 years later!
