BigMike, would you mind telling me where I can find out when my Duramatic was made? I haven't found much searching the internet. I inherited mine from my dad when he died. It originally belonged to my granddad, but I don't know when he bought it.

It's seen some use, but it shoots like a dream. While I'm at it, are all Hi-Standard mags interchangeable? I only have one mag for it and would like to pick up a few.

Thanks

Arrow HS Duramatic

4runner,

The H-S dates of manufacture maybe found in the 'Serialization' section of the "Blue Book of Gun Values". The fact that it is a Duramatic says it was made between 1954 and 1970. The SN, expressed as 12954XX, would nail down the year.

H-S Duramatic #101: .22LR cal, 4 1/2" or 6 3/4" barrel, thumb screw take down, push button magazine release, fixed sights, plastic grips, M-100 or M-101 stamped on right side of slide, Mfg'd. 1954 to 1970. Also sold by SEARS as their 'J.C. Higgins' Model 80.

Some typical values: ["Blue Book of Gun Values", 20th Ed.]
100% = $365. [NIB]
_98% = $295.
_95% = $225.
_90% = $160.
_80% = $125.
_70% = $105.
_60% = $_90.

No, there are 5 or 6 series of magazines for the H-S .22 pistols...! !

Look here for the different H-S magazine types:
http://www.ammoclip.com/H/high_standard.htm

Shop the gun shows for 'original' H-S magazines. They are better than the aftermarket stuff; take your 'original' for comparison: spot welds [location & size], coloration, etc. should match....! !

Hope this helps.....! !
