He is hard headed. You can't teach him squat. You have to learn him and that is an endeavor in perseverance.

I had a good morning for a change; got four. Actually shot five but the last one fell into a hillside area thick with hedge bush and I never located it after searching for an hour. One male and three females, two head shot and two shoulders. Started out frosty and cold, but it was well worth getting out. Ran out of time by 11:30, transporting the wife to a doctors appointment and had to get in and skin 'em out. Picture later. Got two with Eley Edge and two with CCI Subsonics for a direct comparison. I still prefer hollowpoints, I like to hear that POP on impact that confirms the hit. The Eley is more accurate, but not really enough more to warrant the expense plus the less positive kills aren't too satisfying.

Phil, sounds like a good morning. Like the comparison of the the two types of ammo. CCI SSHP work well for me in my Ruger 10/22 Target. I am looking forward to getting back out after deer season is done here. I have not been out for a while. Stay safe and enjoy.

Four from earlier today with the Kimber 22. Not the greatest picture, forgot both of the cameras and left them at home so had to make do with the phone cam.

Nice picture there Phil, what glass are you using on your Kimber and what little knife you sporting?

Always like seeing your Kimber with squirrels Phil.

I saw a young black squirrel yesterday running along my fence and then on to the neighbor's chainlink pipe fence top. shick shick!

Scope is a Leupold VX1 2-7x33mm. The knife was made by Russell Easler; 6-7/8" OAL. I like small sized drop points; longer blades are a bit awkward working on smaller critters.

The best tool that I've used skinning squirrels is dirt cheap, the fish skinning pliers to grasp the hide for pulling work great, especially with arthritis and peripheral neuropathy diminished grip strength.

Had my brother and nephew up from Houston this past weekend. Nephew had never really gone squirrel hunting before so he got a quick crash coarse in it. Killed 1 still hunting Sunday morning and then got in on some kills that evening when we turned the dogs loose.
